My imaginary life

These days it seems like I am always indebted to paisley, for she has a knack for finding the coolest things. Through her blog why paisley I learned about a new writing site, Writer's Island, which will debut on September 11. There is a prompt for writers already, and we are encouraged to produce our works and post them on the new site on Sept 11. The writing prompt is is "my imaginary life."

When I was younger (especially during high school and college) my imaginary life was my sanctuary, the place I would go when I was bored or upset. Whenever I had a crush on a boy, I would live a romance with him inside my head, a convoluted story of star-crossed lovers getting together in the end. Whenever I felt unappreciated, I had fantasies of being sick in the hospital, surrounded by friends and family, getting flowers from my secret crush.

Now that I am older, my imaginary life is free from financial concerns and full of travels and peaceful moments. My children never talk back and always do everything I tell them to do. My husband and I don't have to work, so I can dedicate my life to writing. I have a house that is always clean and uncluttered. I cook wonderful meals and entertain often. My French and Italian are fluent. I have a house by the beach. I go back to college and get a second degree, this time in anthropology. Or maybe archeology.

  3. I loved your imaginary life, Ingrid - I'm certain many moms would wish for the same! My fantasy life too, would be to write all day, and not have to earn money doing something I detest. At least it's a short week - tomorrow is already hump day! :-) Hey, that prom pic is gorgeous - definite Hottie!!

  4. My imaginary life is vivid too and contains many of the same aspects as yours.

I think mostly I just imagine how incredible it would be to win the lottery.....

  5. Me encanta tu foto de senior. Pienso que estaba adelantada a su época, pues me gradué ese mismo año y todavía se usaban las plumas y el humito, ja, ja. Yo escogí el humito... pero igual no es mi mejor foto. Te ves muy linda.

  6. Yes, one of my favorite parts about my imaginmary life is the obidient, quiet children. My girls are so not like that in real life, although they are good kids.

Maria, most of the time my imaginary life involves winning the lottery; that is how I come to be free of financial concerns. If only.

Enid, ¿de qué escuela te graduaste?

  7. Me gradué de la escuela Villa Fontana Superior, Carolina (ahora Gilberto Concepción de Gracia). Fue en el 1985, oops. Ya empecé a quitarme años, ja, ja.

  8. Enid, recuerdo esa escuela. Yo pasaba por enfrente de ella cada vez que iba a Plaza Carolina. Dos de mis compañeras de elemental se graduaron de allí.

  9. I have a very vivid fantasy life, as well. I know exactly who I am, what I am and how I live in that life. I have never been addicted to anything, but I think I could become addicted to my fantasy life if I allowed myself too. I would rather dream than work or keep house anyday!

  10. As we get older, we do turn a few of our imaginary life into reality. We live a bit of our dreams.

I imagine someday to write only poetry. Who knows..:D

  11. Your imaginary life sounds wonderful and cozy -- the beach house would be awesome, too. Really nice writing!
