Songs of the 80's

Wolfgang issued a challenge: List our 10 favorite 80's songs and movies. Since I am having a bit of a hard time figuring out what movies to list, I am just going to list my favorite 80's songs for now. Here they are, in random order:

1- One night in Bangkok, Murray Head
2- Shattered Dreams, Johny Hates Jazz
3- Higher Love, Steve Winwood.
4- Something About You, Level 42
5- With or without you, U2
6- King of Pain, The Police
7- Total Eclipse of the Heart, Bonnie Tyler
8- What's Love got to do with it, Tina Turner
9- Love My Way, Psychedelic Furs
10- I Melt With You, Modern English
11- Little Red Corvette, Prince
12- Enjoy the Silence, Depeche Mode
13- Don't you want me, Human League
14- Hungry like the Wolf, Duran Duran
15- Stand Back, Stevie Nicks
16- Twilight Zone, Golden Earring
17- The Look of Love, ABC
18- Kiss and Tell, Bryan Ferry
19- Mandinka, Sinead O'Connor
20- Rock the Casbah, The Clash

This post was updated to list 20 songs instead of the original 10 I had put down. Also, since my enjoyment of these songs was inextricably related to watching the vidoes on MTV, I went ahead and linked to videos on YouTube/MySpace.

p.s. I had totally forgotten about them when I made the list, but I also loved Love Stinks by J Geils Band and Jenny (867-5309) by Tommy Tutone.

  3. oh man Ingrid....if I had time...I'd be listening to all those songs....but work is calling. I may have to join in on this one some time. :)
I love Jenny 867-5309. I heard that they had to make that number not available to anyone, as people would call it all the time. LOL

  4. Amazing List! I totally left off one of my favorite songs from mine. Murray Head's "One Night In Bangkok" is an amazing song! Thanks for playing. The videos were great. "Total Eclipse of the Heart" is one of the creepiest videos ever made! We are the MTV Generation. Thanks for the great post!
