I am getting old

In a week it will be my birthday, yikes.

  1. Almost a Christmas Baby, huh? I suppose that has it's drawbacks, as people tend to give "combined event" presents. Believe me, you aren't old, until you totter across that half-century mark, THEN you feel old! I suppose you are going to be 29...again? :-)

  3. JYankee. Sadly, no. I am still at the point where if I reverse the digits, I will be even older. I will be nearing 40, but still not there.

    Yes, Jos, growing up my birthday presents were usually not as fancy. The good stuff was saved for Xmas. Except when I turned 21. Then my mom gave me jewelry.

  6. Retirement:

    It's apparently a time when they pay you not to work. My mother is retiring shortly (at 60!) and will be living a life of luxurious idleness and spending her winters in a warmer country.

    Unfortunately the way that pensions are going (raising the retirement age), our generation are probably not going to see it. But we can dream...
