Three Word Wednesday- Tulips and Sequoias
This week's words are:
Field
Hide
Second
My mom used to have these beautiful books on gardening. When I was little I would love browsing through them. I have always dreamed of standing in a field full of tulips, ever since I saw pictures of these huge tulip fields in Holland in one of her books. The fields I dreamed of were vast and colorful, complete with a windmill.
Since I was little, I have also dreamt (sometimes literally) of seeing giant sequioas, trees so huge that you could hide behind one of their roots and go unnoticed. Someday I hope to have the opportunity to visit the silent giants. It is more likely that my second dream will come true than the first, since it is easier and more affordable for us to do a road trip to California one summer than it is to travel to Europe. But I hold out hope that I can do both. I sure would love to see those tulips.

Charles, thanks for telling me about Filoli Gardens. I just went online and found their website. I also found pictures online here: http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/album/151977036nvTkDR. What a gorgeous, interesting place. Thanks for telling me about it.
ReplyDeleteYou live in such a great place. The Bay Area is beautiful. I have only been to San Francisco once, on business for a very short time. But I fell in love with it and hope I can visit again someday.
So would I! I think I can fit in your suitcase... can I come along? :o)
ReplyDeleteHope you make both trips. Good job.
ReplyDeleteOh, that tulip photo was a breath of fresh air. What a cheery photo. I've always wanted to be in a field of flowers like that as well.
ReplyDeleteThe Sequoias are magnificent and humbling as well.

I've been missing out, I've never seen sequioas!
ReplyDeleteI like your 3WW compositions, it's laid back and easy to read posts.
Blogger's been a little troublesome today - I can't see the photo but I understand your dream! The sequoias are beautifully inspiring. Washington State has incredible tulip fields as well - and not so far from the sequoias!
ReplyDeleteThe sequoias are magnificent. They make me feel so breathless and yet at peace. Hope you get a chance to see them.
ReplyDeletethis was a really pleasant read ingrid... i have seen the sequoias,, but never been to holland or filoli gardens for that matter,, and i live in the bay area!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDreams filled with happiness, I am sure you will make them happen one of these days and then tell us all about it. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you manage to do both!
ReplyDeleteYour posts bring a certain essence of home to them. I really enjoy stopping by to see your work each Wednesday. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful post and I hope that someday both your dreams come true.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day.
Michelle
Thank you! I really enjoyed writing this week's 3WW. For a moment I was back to being a child, dreaming of tulips and sequoias.
ReplyDeleteGood work, Ingrid!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see the Filoli Gardens, and Giant Forest in Yosemite is not to be forgotten.
I, too, hope to make it to Holland one day. AND to the Sequoias. I've been to the redwoods, and seen fields of wildflowers in Death Valley, but there is always more to see and do when you start traveling.
ReplyDeleteA very visual post...
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to visit the Redwoods. There are so many beautiful and amazing things to see in the world. Thanks for sharing some of your dreams.
